The Greek Association of Law & Economics was established in 2002 after the organization of the 19th Annual Conference of the European Association of Law & Economics (EALE) in Athens. It is an informal organization with 181 members: lawyers, economists and other social scientists. It aspires to be a connecting network of people interested in Law & Economics in Greece, especially young scholars. One of its objectives is the organization of an annual colloquium where young researchers (esp. graduate students in Law & Economics) will have the opportunity to present their work.

It is coordinated by Aristides Hatzis, an Assistant Professor at the University of Athens and a former member of the Steering Committee of the European Association of Law & Economics.

Since the organization is informal, there is no membership fee. An electronic newsletter is periodically distributed to all registered members.
